As of right now, there is no announced time frame for the HTC Incredible to get a GSM-compatible counter-part here in Canada or Europe, so unfortunately you cannot import a Verizon HTC Incredible to Canada. The Verizon HTC Incredible phones will not work on any Canadian cellphone carrier’s networks.

Expect a legal battle that will last years with Apple’s various broad patents that apply to basically every smartphone on the market today, with practically 0% chance of the patents actually holding any ground in court…

“CUPERTINO, California—March 2, 2010—Apple® today filed a lawsuit against HTC for infringing on 20 Apple patents related to the iPhone’s user interface, underlying architecture and hardware. The lawsuit was filed concurrently with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and in U.S. District Court in Delaware.

“We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours.” – Apple.com

It would also use the FRE65C build of Android 2.2, an update which Google has codenamed “Froyo.” WiMAX is referenced in a line of the leaked code, suggesting that Sprint may support this new Android. Engadget also speculates that this could be a smartbook or a “spiritual successor to the Shift.”

There is no word of an estimated release date as of yet, but with its rumoured processor still very new, it would most likely be a long wait.

Could it be legitimate? The code leak was submitted in pure text, so it is possible that it is just a rumour….
