Rogers releases waiver for people who refuse to update Dream/Magic
If you are already running a modded version of android for your dream or magic on rogers, but still do not have you 3g data, rogers has released a waiver you can fill out and get your data back regardless of your software version. It will re-enable your data after submitting it without forcing you to use any of their new software updates, letting you retain root with your older radios.

There’s been some anger over Rogers first deciding to disable the 3G internet of anyone with an HTC Dream that hasn’t update to their newest ROM, which fixes a 911 bug where 911 calls wouldn’t go through unless the GPS was disable. They also took the liberty of upgrading the SPL and patching the kernel More >

With new documents rising out of the FCC’s database, it appears as if a Rogers/AT&T 3G-compatible Nexus One will show up soon. Its funny, I just saw this now – after scrambling to update my phone when the data stopped working in January (http://designguru.org/blog/250110/rogers-disappoints-htc-users-canada-mandatory-software-update).
Now that I have my phone updated with the 911 fix from Rogers I wonder how I can roll it back though; been searching through forums for a way to get root access so I can load cyanogen or another ROM but it seems that there’s no way to unload the 911 fix!? If you’ve got any suggestions please comment below or drop me an email.
Cheers,
